Bird Flu Bird Flu or Avian Influenza is spreading across the world. It has been spread by migratory birds and infected domestic poultry flocks. Many of these flocks have been eliminated to reduce exposure to human populations. It is estimated that 30% of the US population could become infected with this illness. This could have a major impact on South Dakota's health care resources and economy. The following links are to websites that will provide information about the disease and provide ideas to assist families and communities in planning for a major outbreak.
