BACKGROUND

The SDSU Rural Life & Census Data Center provides South Dakotans with federal, state, and local population information concerning family, education, government, agriculture, business, and employment. The RLCDC is a cooperative venture between the U.S. Census Bureau and South Dakota State University.  In return for receiving publications and cd-roms from the Census Bureau, the Center assists data users locate and use the information they need.

OBJECTIVES

  • Provide public with Census Bureau and Rural Life information. 
  • Provide research assistance to data users. 
  • Prepare indicators of the socio-demographic characteristics of the state and local areas. 
  • Analyze rural trends.
